How groups work
A group is a standing crowd with its own chat: a leather club, a bear night, a running group. Vetted members start them and join them. Pending and Anonymous accounts don't see groups at all.
Starting one
Long-press the map where you want it and pick Start a group here, or tap the people button in the grid to start it at your pin. It sits on the map at a blurred block there, as an event does, never at the exact spot, and the city it's for is that block's. Give it a name, an about line, tags and who gets in. Once it's started, add a cover photo from Edit. The cover has to be safe for work, since everyone vetted can see it.
- Open. Any vetted member can join with a tap.
- Ask to join. People ask. An admin sees their photo, handle, distance, position, age and headline, and lets them in or not.
- Invite only. It isn't on the map. Admins invite people they've talked to, and they join with a tap.
Running it
Whoever starts a group is its first admin, and can make others admins. Admins let people in, invite, take people off, edit the group, post its events and close it. If the last admin leaves, the member who's been in longest takes over; with nobody left, it closes.
In the group chat, press and hold a message (on a computer, the face button beside it). Admins can pin it, delete it, mute whoever wrote it for 24 hours, or remove them. Anyone can report it. An event's host has the same tools in the event's chat.
Its events
A group's admins can post events for it from the group's page. Invite only on a group's event means the group's members: they see it, and join with a tap.
Who sees what
Only members see who's in a group. Your profile doesn't show your groups unless you turn that on, on each group's page, and an invite-only group never shows.
A no is silent, here as at an event. Blocking works here too: you won't see each other's messages in the chat, or each other on the member list.
If something's wrong
Every group has Report this group in its menu. A report is about whoever started it.
