Building the network

Feral Mode is only as good as who's on it, and only as busy as the number of Trusted members near you. Nobody buys their way in: every member was vouched for by one person and vetted by another. It grows one vouch you'd stand behind at a time.

Vetting

When someone near you is Pending, their clips show up on the Gate. You watch 3 short clips beside their photos and decide: is this really them, live, and clearly an adult? It takes a minute or two.

Until someone vets them, a Pending member can't check in, post a status, or talk to most of the map. Every review you do lets someone in, or keeps out someone who shouldn't be here.

You're never removed for who you vetted. If someone you approved turns out to be fake or underage, that's a strike on your vetting record; two strikes and you stop vetting. Look carefully and you have nothing to worry about.

The Vetting half of your chain shows everyone you've vetted, your strikes, and how close you are to the next level.

Gatekeeper levels

Each person you vet into Feral Mode adds up to a badge on your profile:

• Gatekeeper, once you've vetted 5 people: you can review Pending members who asked for Gatekeepers only, and message members who only hear from Gatekeepers.
• Sentinel, at 25.
• Guardian, at 100.

Sentinels and Guardians count as Gatekeepers everywhere "Gatekeepers only" applies.

Vouching

An invite is your name on someone. If they're removed for abuse, you're removed with them (the chain, explained). So vouch only for someone you'd answer for. That's the whole test: not how many, but whether you'd stand behind them. Your Invites screen shows how many invites you have to give.

Someone you vouch for counts as brought in once they're vetted.

Free Plus

Do 5 reviews at the Gate, or bring in 5 people who get vetted, in any 30 days, and Plus is free for you for the next 30. Keep it up and it never runs out.

• Every review counts, whatever you decide. Approving people is never the way to Plus.
• Only people who actually get vetted, and stay in good standing, count as brought in.
• Bringing people in counts while your city is growing. Once a city fills out and invites are limited there, Plus is kept free by vetting alone.
• If someone you brought in is removed for abuse, free Plus you earned by bringing people in ends then and there. Plus you earned by vetting stands.
• Five days before it ends, you'll get a reminder.

Already have Plus for life? The goal is the same. The reward is the place you helped found getting bigger, and the badge below.

The Builder badge

Meet the month's goal and your profile carries the Builder badge for the next 30 days. Keep meeting it and it stays.

Places

A map is only as good as the places on it. Add a spot you know: long-press where it is on the map, or use Add a place on your chain's Places tab. Every place you add that's still on the map counts toward a badge:

• Scout: 3 places.
• Tracker: 10.
• Trailblazer: 25.

A place a moderator hides stops counting. The Places tab on your chain lists everything you've added.

Your circle

Your circle is everyone down your line: the people you vouched for, the people they vouched for, and on. The Vouching tab of your chain shows how many of them are Trusted, all together, and, for each person you vouched for, how many they've vouched for, how many they've vetted, the size of their own circle, and how many places they've added.

Past one step, it's only ever a number. You see the names of the people you vouched for, never who they vouched for.

Only members in good standing count. If someone in your circle is restricted or removed, your circle shrinks. Your circle earns badges and word of how it's doing, never Plus.

When someone you vouched for brings someone in, you'll hear about it. Knowing that many good people is worth something, and your profile says so:

• Connected: 10 Trusted members in your circle.
• Well Connected: 50.
• Legend: 250.
