Consumer health data
This notice is the consumer health data privacy policy of Feral Mode LLC ("Feral Mode"), 1645 Newton St, Denver, CO 80224, for Feral Mode Live. It is required by Washington's My Health My Data Act and Nevada's consumer health data law, and it applies to everyone, wherever you live. It adds to the Privacy Policy, which covers everything else.
What's collected, and why
Sexual-health answers you choose to give on your profile under Health: HIV status, PrEP, the month you were last tested, and safer-sex practices. All optional, picked from lists, no free text. They are used for one thing: showing them on your profile, each one only if you switch it on. They are encrypted with a separate key before they're stored, moderators can't see them, and they are never used for advertising, analytics, recommendations or anything else.
What you write yourself. Anything you put in your profile text, a message or a Wall post may say something about your health. It's handled like the rest of what you write, as the Privacy Policy describes.
Notes other members keep. Members with Plus can keep private notes and warnings about people they meet, which might mention someone's health. Those notes are encrypted and readable only by the member who wrote them; Feral Mode doesn't read, use or share them.
Feral Mode doesn't collect health data from anywhere else, doesn't infer health information about you, doesn't collect biometric data, and doesn't track whether you visit places that provide health care. It never sets up a virtual boundary (a geofence) around a place that provides health care. Analytics never counts a visit to this page, Sexual health near you or If something happened, even where you've allowed it on the other public pages (Privacy Policy, section 9).
Sources
You, when you fill in your Health answers or write something; and other members, in the private notes they keep.
Who it's shared with
Nobody. Feral Mode doesn't share or sell consumer health data. Your Health answers are shown only to the people who can see your profile, and only the ones you switch on. Encrypted copies are stored by Feral Mode's hosting provider, Google Cloud, which processes them only on Feral Mode's instructions. Feral Mode has no affiliates that receive them.
If the law ever requires Feral Mode to disclose health data (a valid court order, for example), it will follow the process in the Privacy Policy, including telling you first unless the law forbids it.
Your rights
You can, at any time:
- See it and get a copy: your Health answers are on the Health screen, and in the download from Account › Your data.
- Find out who it's shared with: nobody, as above. You can still ask for confirmation.
- Delete it: clear any answer on the Health screen and it is deleted from storage, not just hidden. Deleting your account deletes all of it within 30 days. Backups that hold it are overwritten on their normal schedule.
- Withdraw consent: clearing your answers withdraws it. Nothing else depends on them.
To ask for any of this in writing, or to have health data about you in someone else's notes looked into, email privacy@getferalmode.com from the email on your account. Feral Mode will confirm it's you, answer within 45 days (and tell you if it needs up to 45 more), and won't treat you differently for asking.
Appeals. If Feral Mode turns down a request, reply with "Appeal" within 60 days, and someone who didn't make the first decision will answer within 45 days. If you're still unhappy, you can complain to your state attorney general: in Washington at atg.wa.gov/file-complaint, in Nevada at ag.nv.gov.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date above changes with it. If Feral Mode ever wants to collect or share health data in a way this notice doesn't describe, it will ask for your consent first.
